Guests approach the venue to find a Red Carpet Entryway outside on Illinois Street, in the heart of Chicago’s River North Neighborhood. The venue is located near many hotels such as The Trump Hotel Chicago, Westin River North, The Peninsula, Hyatt, The Courtyard Marriott, The Shearton, Kimpton Hotel Chicago, Hotel Wyndham, The Lowes, Hotel Intercontinental on Michigan Avenue, The Aloft and many more. Guests enter down the outdoor subway-style stairwell, and into the venue’s main Club area. The overhead lights project an ambient glow (you choose the color) and your company’s logo shines on the 40-foot digital projection screen, a show-stopping backdrop for the featured DJ. Further into the venue is a passageway into the Lounge decorated with chandeliers, plush sofas, a giant champagne bar, a 2nd DJ booth. The digital columns are perfect for more branding of your logo or festive imagery to enhance your themed event.

Allowing planners to pre-select the beverage list, The Underground invites all to take fully control of their experience.

With a venue fit for groups of 50-425 guests, The Underground’s two event spaces – The Club and The Lounge – offer ample opportunities to take parties to whole new levels.
The main venue area, The Club, is equipped to stage the ultimate party. Featuring two fully-stocked bars, an illuminated world map, and a 40-foot high-definition digital video wall with unlimited projection opportunities, The Club is 4,800 square feet of state-of-the-art capabilities. Providing a dynamic and electrifying backdrop, The Club includes an integrated LED ceiling with colors and movement patterns, moving head lighting installed throughout the space, full spectrum lasers creating striking visuals, and a convertible DJ booth flanked by two platforms. Other amenities include CO2 cannons, haze machines, a coat room accommodating 400 coats, an ATM, and a service elevator.
Take a walk down the corridor to The Lounge, an intimate and sophisticated respite from The Club. Refined with rustic and modern accents including plush sofa seating, rich woods, gold trimming, and illuminated columns, The Lounge is a mature destination for events of 50-125 guests. Featuring an oversized DJ booth, an expansive Champagne bar, dangling LED “icicles,” full spectrum lasers, large-format LED video screens, and other amplified elements, The Lounge is a one-of-a-kind 3,400 square foot venue set in the heart of The Underground.
